I am no longer following Daily 5 sad face but I do think this new program does a good job of setting up the routines and procedures in a way that is similar to Daily 5.
I will be the first to admit that I was out the door right after dismissal although I did just continue to work once I got home, but working is a lot more fun when you are cuddled up on the couch in your pjs. She needs to maximize every minute spent on routine teacher chores.
I realized once I had them up I should have added the trains to them too.
Back to School Night took place this past Thursday and it was wonderful meeting many of our new families. AND, it has sticky on the back so you can just plop it right up on your board.

We've also touched on the skill of retelling and will continue to practice and develop that next week.

Let's band together and use all the shortcuts we can to save time and energy. For sure, the most meaningful charts are the ones that the students help create and make.
